QuEST will supply parts for Airbus
The Bangalore-based aer-ospace engineering and manufacturing company, Quest Global, has announced that it will manufacture parts directly for Airbus under a long term agreement. Quest Global supports its aerospace customers such as Airbus and Boeing for aerostructures, engines, accessories, actuation systems, aircraft interiors and ground support equipment.

With both Boeing and Airbus predicting that India will need around 1,000 commercial jets in the next 2 decades and forecasting a domestic traffic increase of 10% to 12% there is little doubt that there is a decent demand for a regional commercial aircraft. After the unfortunate crash of the 14-seater, Saras plane in March 2009, National Aerospace Laboratory NAL is back with a more ambitious plan to build a larger 70-90 seater aircraft termed RTA-70. In this regard we spoke to QuEST Chairman Aravind Melligeri about the project.

IT companies vie for $7 billion nuke power deals
With India planning to raise its share of nuclear power generation from the current level of 4% of its total power generation to 9% in the next 25 years, technology companies have started the rat race to grab key engineering contracts. Contracts worth about $3-$7 billion are expected to open up in the next two decades. Tech companies, such as TCS, Satyam, QuEST Global and Cranes Software have evinced interest in bidding for these contracts.
